Most often, emergency survival will come down to a bare-knuckled fight for survival. While weapons should be your last resort, you always have to prepare for such an eventuality. “Most regions and countries provide licenses for carrying and use of specified weapons. Even then there are potential weapons within the home for which you don’t need a license”, says Matt Redhawk of My Patriot Supply. Traps. There are different types and sizes of traps that you can build for use in your environment. There are traps for catching mice, snakes, even bears and antelopes. There are also home-made traps that can be made and used at home with relative ease. They often have the same potency and durability of a manufactured trap. Guns and Rifles. The semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, the various versions of AK-47, an M1 Carbine, a Ruger 10/22 and a Marlin 1985GS are some of the best weapons available in the market. A combination of powerful stopping power, stainless steel, good pricing and affordability of their ammunition makes them favorites for stashing away. Archeries. The recurve, compound and longbow archeries are the most common survival archeries in the weapons market. There are a number of organizations for archers as well as training ranges for archery. It is a basic skill that can be learned and honed to incredible accuracy. Machetes. A machete is a basic tool that has numerous uses around the home, especially if you live on a ranch or a country home. It can also be a basic survival weapon in case of an emergency. There are over twenty different types of machetes, each with different levels of effectiveness. You have to decide when you go out for shopping, if what you need is a multi-use machete or a self-defense weapon like swords. Stun Weapons. A stun gun is an incapacitating weapon that carries strong amperage. Stun guns, batons and belts, administer the shock through direct contact with the person’s body. On the other hand, tasers fire projectiles that administer the shock through flexible wires. ‘Either way, whatever weapons you settle on, make sure you master them”, advises Matt Redhawk of My Patriot Supply.
